Lumax Lighting fluorescent products with the Made in USA Parts and Labor label are Made in USA and compliant with the Buy American Act. The act includes a number of provisions implemented in Federal Government contracts. Section 1605 of The Act "prohibits the use of funds appropriated or otherwise made available by The Act for any project for the construction, alteration, maintenance or repair of a public building or public work unless all of the iron, steel and manufactured goods used in the project are produced in the United States ." The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) requires that a product advertised as Made in USA be "all or virtually all" made (manufactured) in the U.S. and that the product should contain no or negligible foreign content.
